               Reading

The next month or so we will be working on perfecting our fluency and word recognition.  We will also work on cause and effect and  sequencing. 

Math

We will be completing our measurement unit this month.  We will begin going back to review addition and subtraction with and without regrouping.                              

Science

We will be doing a unit this month on small machines and their properties.  The boys and girls usually find this quite interesting.  

Social Studies

In January and February, we discussed the Chinese New Year and how different people celebrate their holidays.  We read about some national holidays like President's Day and Martin Luther King's birthday.  Now, we will look at some nationalities and what they have contributed to holidays we celebrate.  For example, we will read about the origin of St. Patrick's Day.                                         

AR Reading

By now, students should be reading, testing and checking out books when needed without reminders.  They should be bringing home library books to read and have a book at school daily to read during AR time.
